Position: Quality Control Inspector 

Reports to: President/ CEO 

Status: Full-time / exempt 

Location: Rancho Bernardo 

 

ABOUT MICROTEK:

Microtek’s vision is to deliver novel life sciences services, devices, and therapeutics to provide equitable access and a meaningful connection to healthcare. We provide innovative product development by incorporating microelectronics manufacturing, engineering, bioscience, and pharmaceutical strategies.  We use state-of-the-art equipment and procedures to discover new chemical entities (NCEs) or new biological entities (NBEs) with therapeutic potential, for integration into our microelectronic technologies. 

 

WHO SHOULD APPLY:  

We are seeking a QC Inspector. The QC Inspector is responsible for sampling, measuring, and verifying that manufactured products meet pre-determined quality standards, including ISO standards.  The ideal candidate will have experience in the manufacturing environment, preferably with electronic/electrical instrumentation and be willing to be a hands-on member of a successful team. 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Inspect finished products, products being processed, incoming materials, parts, assemblies, etc., for conformance to pre-determined standards, including ISO 

  • Randomly inspects selected samples to verify accuracy of equipment or process 

  • Familiarity with AQL sampling, MRR & MRB processes 

  • Report conditions requiring immediate repair 

  • Use advance inspection methods to develop and conduct quality programs 

  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports, nonconformance reports, quality control logs, identification tags, and labels to established procedures 

  • Use experience and judgment for planning and accomplishing goals 

  • Inspect work areas to detect unsafe conditions 

  • Train and assist other technicians/operators who will perform QC inspections 

  • Work with minimal supervision 

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES: 

  • Must have a minimum of 1-3 years experience in a Manufacturing Quality Control environment 

  • Previous mechanical inspection background with ability to use basic hand measurement tools, i.e. calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, etc. preferred 

  • Experience in semiconductor industry, electronics manufacturing, and cleanroom environments is preferred 

  • Experience with reading drawing specifications 

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485 a major plus 

  • Excellent organizational skills 

  • Experience MS Office, Word and Excel 

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail 

  • Mathematical and mechanical aptitude 

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Leadership and coordination skills 

  • Flexible and organized. Able to plan and organize activities accordingly and handle various tasks simultaneously 

  • Decision making skills and ability to work independently in a start-up environment 

  • Due to small business environment, must be able to assume responsibilities beyond scope of job description 

  • Assume Management Representative role and responsibilities per ISO 13485 requirements

COMPENSATION: 

This is a full-time role with an annual salary based on level of experience and education. This position includes company standard benefits:
